Wisconsin Restaurant Association Announces New Board Members

New board members were recently elected to the Wisconsin Restaurant Association on March 10th at the WRA Annual Meeting at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee.

Joe Bartolotta, Owner Bartolotta Restaurants in Milwaukee; Eric Boelter, President, Boelter Companies; Mike Engel Owner of Pastiche Bistro in Milwaukee; Dave Flannery, Owner, Apple Holler in Sturtevant and Dina Schultz, V.P. of Sales & Marketing at Society Insurance were elected to the WRA Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors is comprised of restaurant operators from around the state and industry supplier representatives. The Board directs the WRA staff and sets the policies of the Association.
Members of the WRA Executive Committee were also elected:
Chairwoman: Ada Lara Thimke, Lara’s Tortilla Flats in Oshkosh
Chair Elect: Steve Schilling, ZaZING! in North Prairie
Treasurer: Chico Pope, Buckhorn Supper Club in Milton
Dennis Heyde, Fanny Hill in Eau Claire
Susan Patterson, All & Al’s Stein Haus in Sheboygan
Jean Landreman, Landreman’s Family Restaurant in Kaukauna
Immediate Past Chairman: Charlie Gray, Culver’s Frozen Custard in Wausau

As the Chairwoman of the Board, Ada Lara Thimke from Lara’s Tortilla Flats is the key leader for the organization and will set the direction and purpose for the Association during her one-year term. She is responsible for running board meetings and serves as an official spokesperson for the association. As chairwoman she is also responsible for knowing the financials of the organization and ensuring that board policies for the association are followed.

The Wisconsin Restaurant Association is one of the largest trade associations in the state with over 7,000 member locations throughout Wisconsin.  WRA's mission is to advocate on behalf of the restaurant industry, provide a voice for the restaurant industry to consumers and the media and to provide access to information and services to help members better run their businesses.  WRA represents the entire foodservice industry which includes over 16,000 licensed food service establishments.

WRA membership includes a wide range of foodservice businesses representing virtually every size and style of restaurant in the state. Members include fine dining establishments, mom-and-pop supper clubs, small cafes, quick service restaurants, corporate chain restaurants, institutional food service operations, catering businesses and hotel and motel foodservice among others.
